🌟Great Western Community Centre & the Aberdeen Jazz Festival 🌟
We're absolutely delighted to share that Great Western Community Centre will once again be a host venue for this year's Aberdeen Jazz Festival - and we have two fantastic Sundays of music lined up for you.
As many of you know, we are passionate about bringing high quality arts and culture right into the heart of our community and this year's programme does exactly that.
Sunday 15th March 7pm
Aberdeen Jazz Festival Orchestra
We're thrilled to welcome the Aberdeen Jazz Festival Orchestra, led by Richard Michael, for what promises to be an exhilarating evening of jazz and improvisation.
This special performance will unite top local youth ensembles in a powerful fusion of talent, creativity and energy. Supporting young musicians and giving them a professional platform is something we care deeply about at the centre and this concert is set to be a real celebration of emerging talent alongside experienced performers.
If you enjoy vibrant sounds and the thrill of live improvisation, this is one not to miss.
Sunday 22nd March - Jazz the Day West (Afternoon Event)
The following Sunday we slow things down - just slightly- with Jazz the Day West, a relaxed community focused afternoon of live jazz.
As part of the wider Jazz the Day programme, this event brings music directly into the heart of the community, making jazz accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for all.
We're delighted to welcome:
-
Aberdeen Jazz Festival House Band
-
Zoe Downs Quartet
-
Riya Sysa Duo
-
Marisha & Jim Addison
-
Albyn School Jazz Ensemble
-
Tool Box Orchestra
And if you fancy something a little different, you can also unwind in our Vinyl Cafe, where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere between sets.
This afternoon is all about community - popping in, enjoying great music, meeting friends and experiencing the festival in a friendly and informal setting.
Tickets
Tickets for both events are available directly from the festival website:
We would love to see the centre full for both Sundays. Hosting the festival is a real privilege and it's a wonderful opportunity to showcase what community venues can offer - intimate welcoming spaces where live music truly connects people.
Whether you're a lifelong jazz enthusiast, or simply curious to try something new, you'll receive a very warm welcome at Great Western Community Centre.
We look forward to seeing you there.
