Funding Successes at Great Western Community Centre

It's been a busy few months at Great Western. In addition to the day to day running of the centre, we have been delighted to host events, start up new groups and celebrate funding successes.

As a self financing centre, we rely on support from users and funders to keep the centre open and continually providing services. We are therefore delighted to have been successful in securing funding from the National Lottery Awards for All for funding towards our core staffing costs. Thanks to National Lottery players we can continue to build, develop and diversify our programme at the centre through our small staffing team.

We are also very grateful to the Barchester Foundation and W.G Edwards Charitable Foundation for their donations to support our work in reducing social isolation through subsidising groups and activities.

Earlier this month we were one of the host venues for the 101st NESPA music festival, where youngsters from across the North east showcased their musical talent.

We also have new additions to our programme with a new crafting group meeting on Tuesday afternoons, the return of Highland Dancing now on Thursday evenings and we welcome a brand new STEM class joining us in August. Check out our programme to find out more about our groups and activities.
